Dear [Insert Manager Name],
I am writing to formally request time off to perform Hajj, one of the Five Pillars of Islam and an obligatory pilgrimage to Mecca that every able Muslim is required to complete once in their lifetime. Hajj takes place during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah and is projected to occur this year from approximately May 24 to May 29.
I would like to request leave from May 19 through June 3. Please note that because Muslims follow the lunar calendar, exact dates may shift by a day or two as the month is confirmed. Hajj travel is arranged through authorized travel packages, which require additional days for travel, accommodations, and religious rites before and after pilgrimage. This is why the leave request dates extend beyond the pilgrimage dates. I will keep you updated as the dates are finalized.
I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition before my departure. I will complete all outstanding responsibilities in advance, coordinate with colleagues to cover any urgent matters, and remain reachable for time-sensitive questions when feasible.
I understand this is an extended absence and greatly appreciate your understanding and support. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if there is anything I can do to make this transition easier for the team.
Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
